Facebook Chat in New Window Shiretoko

Lately I heard by friend Rohit complaining about the Facebook Chatbox opening in a new window in Firefox3.5.1(Shiretoko) in Jaunty Jackalope (which was previously working on 3.0.11).

Using the Live HTTP Header addon for firefox I found out that the User-Agent sent was something like.

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090716 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Shiretoko/3.5.1 AutoPager/0.5.2.2 (http://www.teesoft.info/)

Now to overcome this problem. I installed a plugin called User Agent Switcher.

Now goto

Tools->Default User Agent->Edit User Agents...

Now you will get a window something like this.

Click on New->New User Agent...

A new window appears.

Replace

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090716 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Shiretoko/3.5.1

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux x86_64; en-US; rv:1.9.1.1) Gecko/20090716 Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) Firefox/3.5.1

Give it a name and click ok.

Again goto

Tools->Default User Agent

There you can see a new menu click on it and now refresh the facebook page.
